Our name means ember and frozen — hot and cold. It isn't a metaphor: they're the two numbers we chase every day, 90°C and 2°C, and everything between them is the job.
It started with one sauna that was wrong
In 2017 we were called to fix a sauna in a Lembang villa. Three years old, mould all the way into the frame. Good timber, brand-name heater, tidy finish. What it didn't have: a vapour barrier or ventilation. Two things you can't see, that don't photograph, and that can't be added without taking everything apart. We took everything apart. Our priority order hasn't changed since: what's behind the wall first, what's visible second.
A workshop, not a warehouse
We fabricate in Bandung rather than importing finished cabins and applying a label. The difference shows in small things: dimensions follow your room instead of you rearranging a room around a standard box; benches are assembled with no metal in contact surfaces; and if a board needs replacing in five years, the person who cut it the first time is still here.
Why hot and cold always come together
Most customers arrive wanting a sauna. Some arrive wanting an ice bath. Almost all of them, after a year of using one, want both — because the contrast is the entire point. So we ask at the first survey: if you might want an ice bath later, shall we run the services now? Pulling cable and pipe today costs almost nothing. Breaking up a floor in three years costs a great deal.
Bandung hands us something
At 750 m, evenings here are 18–20°C. That means the cool-down — the part of the cycle people actually feel most — can happen in open air, for free, with no air conditioning. Our counterparts in Jakarta don't have that. Nearly every wellness area we design here is built around it.
