Why bagged ice isn't the answer
Buying ice per session sounds cheap until you total a year of it. More importantly, ice gives you a different temperature every time — and cold dose is temperature times duration. Without a stable number you aren't running a protocol, you're guessing. A 0.5–1 HP chiller holds whatever you set, runs on ordinary 220V, and costs far less in electricity than a daily ice run.
Cold water hides problems, it doesn't solve them
Cold slows bacteria; it does not sterilise. People sweat into that tub, and oils and skin cells accumulate regardless of temperature. That's why every unit ships with 20µm cartridge filtration and UV or ozone sanitising — not chlorine, which performs poorly in cold water at low bather loads. A shower-before rule does more than any chemical you can add.
Construction
A 304 stainless or composite tub with charred-timber (shou sugi ban) cladding that survives Bandung weather, insulation thick enough that the chiller isn't running constantly, and non-slip steps and surfaces. The plant space goes away from the rest zone — chillers are noisy, and ignoring that is the thing people regret most.

There isn't a single ideal number — there's a dose. Beginners are comfortable at 12–15°C, the common range is 8–12°C, and experienced users go 3–8°C. Below 3°C shows no proven extra benefit and raises risk.
What does the chiller cost to run per month?

How often does the water need changing?
